Assistant Professor, Music History and Cultures (Syracuse University)
SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY—Ethnomusicology. The Department of Art and Music Histories in the College of Arts & Sciences seeks to fill its Carole & Alvin I. Schragis Faculty Fellow position with a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in the music and culture of underrepresented populations. Appointment to begin August 2024. In addition to teaching courses within their specialty, the successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the undergraduate curriculum and develop courses with a focus on experiential learning. They will also advise music history and cultures majors and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. A Ph.D. in ethnomusicology or related field by the appointment date is required. College-level teaching experience is preferred. Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Syracuse University is classified as an R1 research institution and successful candidates will be expected to maintain an active program of research and publication.
